My cat loves the earth backpack. It's solid and pure luxury for my furry friend during our travels. The design and colors are amazing. The service also and specially Andie. My backpack had a technical problem and Travelcat responded with the offer of a new one shipped to the Netherlands. I really can recommend this backpack and company. I got this backpack recently after adopting two kittens, I wanted to start training them so I could take them on drives and hikes with me. I also bought their fat cat backpack a few years ago for a cat I used to have and he absolutely loved it so when I saw this new one this time around I had to try it. The boys love their backpack and there’s definitely a lot of room in there for both of them at almost five months old right now, but definitely planning on getting a second one here soon. The only downside in my opinion is that the water bladder pocket is on the inside of the backpack where the cats sit and I am too afraid that they will puncture the bladder through it to give it a try. Still gets 5 stars in my book though for how comfortable it is to wear and how much they love it.
I got my pack around Christmas, and after 2 months Charly and I are having weekly adventures and loving it.
I’m impressed with the sturdy frame. The waist belt and chest strap are essential. Thoughtful touches make it a pack that serves me on hikes and skis (bladder pocket, hose straps, and exterior pockets). Charly likes having the screens rolled back and riding.
I wish there was a clip inside the pack for the strap that holds the back window open. That way it wouldn’t dangle in kitty’s face when the window is closed. I wish the top window securement was a little easier to manage too. The buckle is a trick to do if someone is helping me while I’m wearing the pack. The internal tethers are a great idea, but I did find my kitty can still climb out and will then be dangling from them. We use a separate leash instead (a waist level carabiner clip for external leashes would be great!).
Regardless of these suggestions - it is a phenomenal pack and works so much better than I ever expected. Full 5 stars.
